Garlic Butter Oven Baked Tilapia: Under $15

Restaurant-Inspired Delights: Cooking Fine Cuisine in Your Kitchen

Today, after my workout, I headed to Walmart on a quest for Valentine’s Day inspiration (stay tuned for that post). However, my journey took an unexpected turn when I stumbled upon fresh Tilapia – a dish I hadn’t cooked in ages.

I noticed a few discounted packages of fish nearing their expiration date, but this time, I opted for one with a longer shelf life, guaranteeing freshness. The package contained three fish – perfect for a meal for two (my son hasn’t developed a taste for fish yet).

I bought the package for $8.31

The outcome was beyond satisfying. What I love about this recipe is its simplicity; the oven does all the work, freeing you from the stove. If you prepare the seasoning, you can easily whip up this super tasty dish for dinner.

This particular recipe stands out for its simplicity. No breadcrumbs, parmesan, or fancy toppings – just lemon, garlic, and butter. It’s an excellent choice for those on a low carb, gluten-free, or Keto-friendly diet, delivering big on flavor. Even picky eaters can’t resist this delicious fish fillet.

As a side dish, I prepared sautéed mushrooms and zucchini with butter, garlic, and herbs – a perfect complement to the flavorful Tilapia.

Is Tilapia Good for Your Health?

Food experts suggest that while wild-caught fish is often considered more nutritious, properly farmed fish, like tilapia, is highly beneficial. Tilapia is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids and an excellent source of protein.
Note that the quality of tilapia varies based on the source. It’s crucial to research the reputation, standards, and feed of the source for the best health benefits.
