It’s hard to believe it’s been almost a year since we traded the bustling streets of Seoul for the sunny landscapes of Arizona. Friends often ask me, “Do you like it there?” And my answer is a resounding YES, every time. Here’s why our Arizona adventure has been nothing short of amazing:

1. Popularity

Arizona’s charm lies in its tranquility, a stark contrast to the bustling crowds of Seoul. Having experienced the vibrant city life before our move, we embraced the change wholeheartedly, especially now with our little one. No more navigating through throngs of people – instead, weekends are filled with family-friendly adventures in the peaceful Arizona atmosphere.

2. The Weather

While Arizona’s summers are famously hot, the secret weapon is the trusty AC. What’s even better? No sticky humidity, unlike the sweltering Korean summers. And this winter? It’s been a surprise with many locals donning short sleeves. No need for bulky coats – Arizona’s weather is a year-round win!

3. Economic Household

Comparing the cost of living in Seoul to Arizona is like comparing night and day. Groceries, gas, and even playground outings for the kids are budget-friendly. Seoul may be a top city, but Arizona’s affordability makes it a haven for a growing family.

4. Affordable Housing

Our housing journey has been a revelation. Leaving behind a Seoul apartment in the heart of “Dongdaemoon,” we now revel in the luxury of a real house with a backyard. Arizona’s housing options are not just affordable; they’re a game-changer, providing the space and comfort we’ve always dreamed of.

5. Cultural Diversity

As a mixed cultural family, we found a welcoming home in Arizona. International families may be a rarity in Korea, but here, diversity thrives. Influences from Native American, Hispanic, and Western traditions create a vibrant cultural tapestry that enriches our daily lives.

Arizona, you’ve been everything we hoped for and more.
